
What are refundable tickets?
Refundable tickets offer enhanced cancellation rights if you can no longer attend an event for one of the listed reasons.
How do I purchase a refundable ticket?
Refundable tickets can only be purchased online at the time of your ticket purchase. All you need to do is tick "Refundable Ticket" when you're purchasing your tickets online. This field is on the payment page and is automatically highlighted for ease of access.
Who can purchase this policy?
Anyone purchasing a ticket for an event from ticketek.co.nz can opt to purchase a refundable ticket.
When am I covered?
Cover begins when your transaction is finalised and you receive your reference number in your confirmation email.
Cover ends when the event begins (or when the event begins on the last day of the event if the duration of the event is more than one day) or a claim is made - whichever happens first.
What is covered?
We provide refunds if you are unable to attend the event due to any of the listed reasons, and you have provided the required evidence shown in the individual reasons section here. These are subject always to the General Conditions of Refund.
- Illness / injury (including Covid-19)
- Pre-existing medical condition
- Pregnancy complication
- Death of immediate family
- Public transport failure
- Flight disruption
- Mechanical breakdown
- Adverse weather
- Home emergency
- Theft of documents
- Jury service
- Court summons
- Armed Forces & Emergency Services Recall
- Relocated for work
- Changes to examination dates
We do not refund for any travel restriction associated with Covid-19, or fear of travelling.
We may also consider other emergency circumstances at our absolute discretion, and you will need to provide evidence for these circumstances.

If I do not go to the event because I have changed my mind, do I get my money back?
No. We do not refund if your booking is no longer wanted or needed. You must make all arrangements to arrive in time to attend the event, including arranging any necessary permits, travel documents, or visas. Refundable tickets only provide cover if you are unable to attend the event because of a covered circumstance or reason.

No. We do not refund if you lose your ticket.

Do I need to purchase refundable tickets for each event?
Yes. Refundable tickets must be purchased separately for each event.
Costs will be calculated for you on the payment page.
How do I make a claim?
Your refund application and payment will be handled by the Customer Experience Team who act as the administrator of our refundable terms.
To apply for a refund you must complete the refund application form here as soon as you know you cannot attend the event, and up to 60 days after the event.
