Why does the App ask to use your current location the first time it's opened?
This is so we can show you upcoming events in your vicinity. The app also uses your location to alert you of events currently being held at specific venues.
How do I add my Mobile Tickets to the Ticket Wallet?
Mobile Tickets will automatically be added to your Ticket Wallet when you are signed into your MyTicketek account.
When I buy and send mobile tickets to my friends, do they need to download the Ticketek app?
If you are buying multiple mobile tickets, your friends don't necessarily need the Ticketek App – you can simply forward on the mobile ticket SMS to your friend and they can open the link on any internet enabled smartphone on the day of the event to gain entry. They will also have the option to 'Add to Ticket Wallet' (they will need to download the App to view the ticket in their wallet). This can be accessed using the 'Share and Save' button on the mobile ticket.
Will mobile tickets be removed from the Ticket Wallet after an event?
Yes, 90 days after the event, tickets will automatically be removed from your Ticket Wallet.
What does Friend Spotter do?
You can opt-into Friend Spotter during the purchase pipeline, on both the Ticketek website and mobile site. To opt in, you simply need to authorise Ticketek to access your Facebook friend details and agree to share your seat details with your friends.
If you don't opt-in during purchase, you can also opt in to Friend Spotter at a later date by using the 'Share and Save' button on your mobile tickets.
Why does Ticketek want to access my Facebook details?
This allows the Friend Spotter feature to link your seat location with your Facebook friends.
The Ticketek App will only use your basic Facebook details to access your Facebook friend list and, if they have also opted to use Friend Spotter, show you which of your friends are at the same event as you and where they are sitting.
Can event notifications and location services be turned off from the Ticketek app?
Yes, you can turn on and off notifications and location services at any time within the 'Settings' menu of the App.
For location services: Phone Settings > Privacy > Location Services
For notifications: App Settings > Account > Your Subscriptions
What happens if my phone is out of battery or my network coverage is low when I get to the venue?
If you find yourself at the venue and unable to access your ticket on your mobile phone, please visit the Box Office and they will be able to help you. You will need to provide some form of ID so that the staff can access your Ticketek account details.
What happens if I have lost my phone?
The Ticket Wallet is only accessible within the App once you are logged into your MyTicketek account, so if your phone is stolen, no-one can access your wallet without first logging in to your account. You can log into MyTicketek within the App on your new phone (or on a friends phone) and the tickets will be in your Ticket Wallet.
Mobile Tickets may be reissued to the ticket purchaser only, and we recommend that customers contact the Ticketek Call Centre on 0800 TICKETEK (842 538) ahead of the event day to do so. You will need to provide some form of ID so that staff can access your Ticketek account details.
Will the App work on an iPad?
The App is built for mobile devices, although it will run on an iPad at iPhone resolution. If magnified, the display may be blurry.
Will the App work on all smartphones?
Yes, the App can be downloaded for all iPhone and Android smartphones.
